Qualification & Experience:
Essential:
- Master's degree in International Relations, Political Science, China Studies, Strategic Studies, Public Policy, Management, or a related discipline from an HEC-recognized university with 5-7 years of relevant professional experience in academia, research organizations, international organization, policy institutions, or higher education administration.
Desirable:
- PhD in China Studies, International Relations, Strategic Studies, Public Policy, or a related field.
- Prior experience of collaboration with Chinese universities, think tanks, or organizations in Pakistan or China.
- Prior 8-10 years experience working with Chinese universities, think tanks, cultural centers, or business organizations.
- Experience in managing international collaborations, exchange programs, joint research projects and raising funds.
- Hands-on experience in organizing international conferences, seminars, webinars, and cultural events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement CSC's strategic objectives and advisory role on China Studies at NUST.
- Coordinate and strengthen linkages between NUST and Chinese universities, think tanks, businesses, and relevant offices, especially in the areas of social sciences.
- Facilitate MoUs and collaborative activities (academics, research, exchanges, events) in line with NUST SoPs.
- Support organization of seminars, conferences, webinars, and roundtable discussions.
- Oversee academic, cultural, and outreach activities, including Chinese cultural events and festivals.
- Supervise publications, including CSC newsletter and future journal initiatives.
- Facilitate student-focused initiatives such as internships, exchanges, Chinese language programs.
- Maintain liaison with Chinese counterparts and other reputable institutions for funding, visits, and jointly sponsored research/events.
- Perform the function of visiting faculty within NUST, when asked for.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the China Study Centre, ensuring smooth implementation of programs, events, and activities in compliance with NUST policies and SoPs.
- Serve as the focal point for liaison, coordination, and follow-up with internal NUST stakeholders and external partners, including official delegations and institutional visits.
- Strive for CSC's financial independence through partnership and Collaboration.
- Any other assigned tasks.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Essential:
- Strong ability to collaborate with academia, think tanks, government institutions and international organization.
Desirable:
- To maintain strong professional relationships with Chinese universities, think tanks, and organizations.
Training/Certification:
Formal training, certification, or academic exposure in Chinese language, culture, or SinoPakistan relations.
Terms & Conditions:

- Last education certificate/degree must be attested/verified by HEC.
- Candidates may be considered ineligible for the post due to any of the following reasons:
- 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
- NUST employees with less than one year of service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
- In process of pursuing a required degree.
- Only selected candidates will be contacted and issued offer letter.
- Candidates serving in Govt departments, Armed forces may apply through their respective parent department / organizations.
- Late / incomplete applications will be ignored.
- Only short-listed candidates will be considered / called for test / interview and no TA / DA will be admissible.
