Role Overview :

The Deputy General Manager – Early Years (Nurseries) is a senior leadership role responsible for supporting the General Manager in driving operational excellence, educational quality, admissions, business development, and sustainable growth across the nursery portfolio in Dubai.

This role acts as a strategic bridge between the corporate office and nursery operations, ensuring consistency, compliance, and high performance across all centres.

The ideal candidate will combine strong early years education knowledge, multi-site operational leadership, commercial and business development skills, and the ability to lead diverse teams.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Strategic & Business Leadership

  • Partner with the General Manager to execute the early years/nursery strategic plan, growth roadmap, and performance targets.
  • Translate group-level goals into clear operational, educational, admissions and commercial objectives for all nurseries in Dubai.
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, cost optimisation and P&L performance at centre and group level.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives (HR, Finance, Marketing, Operations) to improve efficiency, scalability and service delivery.

2. Business Development, Admissions & Growth

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the early years space (e.g. new nursery locations, partnerships, corporate tie-ups, feeder-school relationships).
  • Work with Marketing to design and execute enrolment growth plans and campaigns, especially for priority or underperforming centres.
  • Own the admissions funnel and enrolment performance across all nurseries:
  • Set standards for enquiry handling, tours, follow-up and parent communication.
  • Monitor and drive conversion rates, occupancy and waitlist management.
  • Review weekly/monthly admissions reports (enquiries, tours, offers, conversions, lost reasons) and take corrective actions where needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, residential communities, developers, schools and community organisations to drive referrals and brand visibility.
  • Support the development of new programmes or services (e.g. holiday camps, extended hours, enrichment clubs) that increase revenue while maintaining quality and compliance

3. Operations & Quality :

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple nurseries, ensuring consistent standards and strong parent experience.
  • Monitor KPIs (enrolment, occupancy, staffing ratios, compliance, parent satisfaction).
  • Support inspection readiness and quality assurance in line with EYFS/early years frameworks and local regulations.

4. People Leadership :

  • Lead and support Nursery Managers, Academic Coordinators and Admissions/front-of-house teams.
  • Drive performance management, goal setting and staff development.
  • Promote a child-centred, values-driven, compliant culture

5. Parent, Brand & Stakeholders

  • Oversee handling of parent communication, feedback and escalations.
  • Represent the nursery group with regulators, partners and community stakeholders as needed.

Key Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Early Childhood Education, Education Leadership, Business/Management or related field.
  • 8+ years experience in nurseries/early years or schools, including multi-site leadership.
  • Proven experience in operations and/or admissions/enrolment management.
  • Strong people leadership, commercial acumen and familiarity with UAE early years regulatory environment.
