The Deputy Manager – Nursery assists the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day management and operations of the nursery. This role ensures high-quality early childhood education, safety, and care for children, while supporting staff, maintaining compliance with regulations, and fostering positive relationships with parents.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Management:
- Assist in planning and implementing daily nursery activities.
- Ensure smooth functioning of classrooms, play areas, and administrative processes.
- Maintain records of attendance, admissions, and developmental progress of children.
2. Staff Supervision and Support:
- Supervise nursery staff, teachers, and support personnel.
- Conduct staff appraisals, provide feedback, and support professional development.
- Assist in recruiting and training new staff members.
3. Curriculum and Child Development:
- Support the implementation of age-appropriate learning programs.
- Monitor and assess children’s developmental milestones.
- Ensure activities encourage social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
4. Parent Communication and Engagement:
- Respond to parent inquiries professionally.
- Assist in organizing parent meetings, events, and workshops.
- Promote a positive nursery image and maintain strong parent relationships.
5. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Maintain compliance with local regulations and licensing requirements.
- Assist in preparing for inspections and audits.
6. Administration and Reporting:
- Support budget management, resource allocation, and procurement of materials.
- Prepare regular reports for the Nursery Manager or school administration.
- Maintain documentation for children, staff, and operational procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in nursery or early childhood management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of child safety, hygiene, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to plan, organize, and multitask effectively.
