The Deputy Manager – Plant Operations is responsible for ensuring the operational efficiency and performance of all machinery, equipment, and staff across pole plants and related facilities. The role ensures that the plant operates smoothly, adheres to safety standards, complies with regulatory requirements, and achieves operational goals. The position involves a combination of leadership, technical expertise, and strategic planning.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Ensure the operational worthiness of all machinery and equipment across plants, overseeing regular maintenance, calibrations, and timely repairs.

  • Monitor equipment performance, plan for upgrades, and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Manage and maintain reserve machinery to prevent production loss.

5. Maintain accurate records for all store items and ensure proper issuance in alignment with SOPs.

6. Oversee administrative arrangements at plants to ensure operational efficiency.

7. Regulate petty cash and manage the processing of daily vouchers.

8. Recruit, train, and manage the performance of Pole Plant and head office staff.

9. Oversee inventory management, ensuring proper registration, licensing, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

10. Conduct regular inventory audits to prevent discrepancies.

  • Maintain accurate asset records and coordinate regular maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal condition.
  • Implement security measures to protect company assets from theft or damage.

13. Ensure smooth processing of all poles from production to dispatch, maintaining accurate logs and ensuring proper stacking and counting.

14. Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure pole dispatches as per standards of the company, scrutiny of the gate passes, its uploading on the folderit and hard copies being maintained as per SOP.

15. Address compliance issues promptly and remain updated on industry standards.

16. Liaise with government departments and local communities to ensure smooth operations.

17. Collaborate with relevant government departments (e.g., Environmental Protection Agency,

18. Engage with local communities where Pole Plants, stores, addressing community concerns effectively.

19. Manage scrutiny of weekly Audit with physical count of store and spare and raw materials as received from the Plants. Centralized report shall be shared with the accounts department on every Thursday

20. Identify ten bulk items and ten valuable stores and spares items for scrutiny on weekly basis

21. Identify significant cost items and monitor by adding at least ten items every week in the list of weekly audit to work out the variance

22. Prepare and manage operational budgets, comparing actual expenditures against forecasts, analyzing variances, and presenting findings to senior management by May 15.

23. Develop annual operational budgets and monitor performance to ensure expenditures align with forecasts. Present finalized budgets to GM by April 30.

24. Identify operational risks and develop mitigation plans, sharing updates on a bimonthly basis.

25. Prepare and present detailed operational reports to the GM and CEO on a monthly basis, covering plant performance, issues, and opportunities.

26. Support the expansion of Pole Plants and the implementation of new initiatives, assisting with resource identification and ensuring alignment with overall objectives.

27. Manage and lead maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and store teams, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

28. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement.

29. Ensure proper recruitment as per trade, their training, and performance management.

30. Ensure that all records, logs, and documents are readily available for audits.

31. Perform any other tasks assigned by senior management (CEO/GM).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in operations management, preferably within manufacturing, industrial, or plant environments.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in budget management, forecasting, cost control, and operational performance reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and safety protocols.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs100,000.00 - Rs150,000.00 per month
