Position Description:

The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, Department of Dermatology is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Dermatopathologist to join our dynamic and growing academic faculty. This is an exceptional opportunity to practice dermatopathology in collaboration with a highly respected group of dermatologists and pathologists at a nationally recognized institution.


Position Highlights:


  • Academic Appointment: Appointments may be made at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level, on either the tenure-track or clinical (non-tenure) track, depending on clinical experience and research interests. Positions can range from 50% to 100% full-time effort.

  • Practice Focus: Dermatopathology as well as clinical dermatology

  • Cutting-Edge Facilities: Access to advanced histopathology resources

  • Collaborative Environment: Partnership with colleagues in dermatology, surgical pathology, oncology, and research programs.

  • Educational Role: Teaching responsibilities with medical students, residents, and fellows in both dermatology and pathology.

  • Research Opportunities: Institutional support for clinical, translational, or basic science research, with dedicated laboratory space and start-up resources available if applicable.

Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.


Education Requirement:

  • MD or equivalent degree with completion of an ACGME-accredited dermatology or pathology residency

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited dermatology or pathology residency

  • Fellowship training in dermatopathology

  • Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Iowa

Certifications:

  • Board certification or eligibility in dermatology and/or pathology, and in dermatopathology

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Commitment to academic medicine, education, and scholarly achievement
