Design Engineer

Job Purpose

To act as the technical bridge between client, consultant, and internal engineering team, ensuring all design submissions are accurate, buildable, and aligned with project requirements.
This role combines design coordination, technical drawing development, and client communication to achieve smooth approvals and minimize rejections.

Key Responsibilities1. Client & Consultant Coordination

• Serve as the primary technical contact for design-related matters with clients, consultants, and main contractors.
• Conduct and attend design meetings, workshops, and clarification sessions.
• Review comments from clients/consultants and ensure timely, accurate resubmissions.
• Maintain professional communication — written and verbal — ensuring clarity and responsiveness.

2. Drawing & Documentation

• Prepare, review, and issue shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and as-built drawings in accordance with project standards.
• Ensure drawing quality, clarity, and consistency across all submissions.
• Translate architectural/structural concepts into manufacturable details compatible with factory and site execution.

3. Technical Accuracy & Manufacturability

• Verify dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, and connection details for feasibility and constructability.
• Collaborate with factory engineers and site teams to align design intent with actual capability.
• Identify and propose value-engineering solutions to optimize cost and fabrication efficiency.

4. Project Control & Scheduling

• Plan and track drawing submissions in line with project design schedule.
• Monitor comment cycles, rejections, and approvals to maintain on-time progress.
• Support design manager in preparing progress reports and submission logs.

5. Internal Coordination

• Work closely with 3D modelers, detailers, and draughtsmen to ensure clarity of instruction.
• Support procurement by providing accurate material lists and specifications.
• Communicate with production and installation teams to resolve technical queries (RFIs, NCRs, etc.).

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of architectural metalwork, façades, steel, glass, and cladding systems.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for client interaction.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in following up on comments and submissions.
• Ability to balance design quality, speed, and coordination under pressure.

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
