Design Engineer

• Lead the design and development of electrical systems for battery electrical system design.
• Develop comprehensive schematics and layouts for low-voltage (LV) electrical systems.
• Define and specify electrical components such as fuses, contactors, relays, connectors, and wiring.
• Work closely with mechanical engineers to ensure proper integration and packaging of electrical components.
• Collaborate with the BMS team to define sensing, communication, and control interfaces.
• Design protection circuits for overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, short circuit, and thermal events.
• Create wiring harness designs, connector pinouts, and integration drawings.
• Generate detailed documentation including BOMs, assembly drawings, and test plans.
• Support prototyping, testing, debugging, and failure analysis of battery systems.
• Addressing the customer queries and handling customer feedback.
• Set an example to junior engineers in the team & coach them as required.
• Reporting to the Team Manager in a timely and efficient manner.

Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical system design and development, with significant exposure to electrical system design.

• Experience with wire harness design.
• Knowledge of HV system safety, insulation, creepage/clearance, and isolation techniques.
• Strong knowledge in electrical component selection (e.g. circuit breakers, contactors, relays, fuse, CT & PT, sensors and various types of switches)
• Hands-on experience with prototyping and electrical testing equipment.
