Key details about the role and the candidate

Support the engineering team in preparing designs, drawings, and documentation for mechanical and structural components used in drilling rigs and oilfield equipment. The role focuses on learning, assisting senior engineers, and developing practical engineering skills while ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.


Primary responsibilities

  • Assist in developing 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar CAD tools
  • Prepare and update engineering drawings, layouts, and basic design documentation
  • Support simple design calculations and material selection under supervision
  • Assist with reverse engineering of existing equipment and site measurements
  • Help prepare design packages including drawings and BOMs
  • Follow API, ISO, ASME, and internal Bentec standards and procedures
  • Coordinate with draftsmen and senior engineers to meet project deadlines
  • Provide basic technical support to fabrication and site teams when required
  • Participate in design reviews and internal engineering checks


Experience

  • Basic knowledge of 3D CAD modelling and drafting
  • Understanding of mechanical and structural fundamentals

  • Attention to detail and eagerness to develop professionally
  • Ability to work under guidance in a fast-paced environment


Minimum qualifications – essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • Experience in mechanical or structural design
  • Internship or trainee experience in oil & gas or heavy equipment is an advantage
