Design Engineer - Conveyors & Industrial Automation

POSITION SUMMARY

The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing conveyor systems and custom automation equipment based on customer requirements and project specifications. The role requires strong mechanical design capabilities, excellent problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Autodesk Inventor for 3D modelling, assembly design, and detailed manufacturing drawings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Mechanical Design & Engineering

• Design and develop conveyor systems and material handling equipment according to project requirements.
• Produce detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
• Perform design calculations and component selection to ensure functionality, reliability, and cost- effectiveness.
• Develop General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications.
• Review and optimize designs to improve manufacturability and reduce production costs.

Project Execution

• Work closely with Sales Engineers, Project Engineers, and Production teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Provide engineering support during fabrication, assembly, installation, and commissioning.
• Resolve technical issues and recommend suitable engineering solutions.
• Participate in design reviews and project meetings.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain engineering documentation and revision control.
• Prepare technical documentation, design reports, and operating manuals.
• Support standardisation initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
• Assist in developing design libraries and engineering standards.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in conveyor system design and material handling equipment.
• Experience in industrial automation and customised machinery design is preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, automation, or system integration industries is an added advantage.

Language Requirements

• Proficiency in English and Arabic.

Pay: ﷼3,000.00 - ﷼7,000.00 per month
