Senior Design Engineer (Civil / Structural)

Position Objective:

The Civil Design Engineer will be responsible for reviewing and approving Civil & Structure designs, developing technical standards and specifications, ensuring compliance with project requirements, coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces, and supporting project delivery variety of tasks related to technical responsibilities.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

• Develop standards and specifications for civil and structural works in accordance with project requirements
• Participate in tender preparation, bidders profile reviews and technical evaluations
• Review different stages for Civil and Structure designs (concept, schematic, generic prototype design, detailed adaptive site-specific design, MARs, IFCs, and shop drawings)
• Review different elements of Civil / Structure designs such as but not limited to Structural Design Basis, Structural Analysis, Reinforced Concrete, Steel structures, Composite Structures, Modular Construction Systems, Foundations’ Design, Retaining Walls, Site Grading, Landscaping related Civil Items, Water Management Systems and Geotechnical Reports
• Ensure structural adequacy, resilience, redundancy, serviceability, durability, constructability, and lifecycle performance.
• Ensure compliance with local codes, international standards, project specifications and sustainability objectives
• Verify space allocation and temporary site works
• Ensure maintainability and accessibility requirements are incorporated into the design
• Coordinate design interfaces and compatibility with different stakeholders including but not limited to architectural, MEP, ICT, ELV, Power, Security, and Others
• Identify technical risks, design gaps, inconsistencies, and carry out necessary troubleshooting and value engineering opportunities
• Assess CAPEX and OPEX implications of design decisions
• Oversee construction methodologies, material selection and suppliers qualification
• Provide technical support during implementation phase
• Support as-built model updates and handover documentations review
• Participate in outlining project specifications document for owner future reference ensuring space for expansion, enhancement and optimization
• Review BIM models for engineering coordination and oversee clashes resolutions and interface issues
• Review and approve commissioning plans and procedures
• Review different tests reports such as but not limited to concrete testing, reinforcement testing, steel testing, load testing and foundation testing

Qualifications & Experience:

• A degree in Civil from a university or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years telecommunication experiences
• Strong knowledge of Civil / Structure Design for Modular Construction
• Proven experience in design review from concept design through construction completion and handover
• Proven experience in reviewing large-scale commercial, industrial, logistics, healthcare, hospitality, mixed-use, airport, transportation, or mission-critical projects
• Strong experience in reviewing designs against SBC requirements, local municipality regulations, utility authority requirements, and modular/offsite construction methodologies where applicable
• Strong coordination capability and the ability to resolve design clashes proactively
• Ability to work in fast-paced design environments
• Advance level in REVIT, Navisworks and CAD (mandatory)
• Understanding of LODs 200 - 500
• LEED or sustainability awareness / certifications would be a plus
