Design Engineer, Electrical (Primary Design)

Job description:

DAR Engineering is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Design, Engineer to join our team!

Job Responsibilities:

• Create efficient, innovative designs using advanced software.
• Conduct feasibility assessments and integrate safety and environmental standards.
• Support senior team members and stay current with industry best practices
• Estimate construction costs and material requirements based on detailed designs.
• Proficient in designing electrical systems for LV/MV/HV/EHV substations, covering all stages from base design to detailed design and IFC (Issued for Construction).
• Strong understanding of T&D functions in the context of construction contracts, with the ability to coordinate effectively with other engineering disciplines.
• Skilled in the preparation of equipment layouts, including GIS, switchgear, transformers, capacitor banks, trays, duct banks, tunnel layouts, lighting, shielding, earthing, and AC/DC auxiliary systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of relevant international standards, such as IEC, IEEE, BS, SASO, and SEC standards.
• Strong working knowledge of industry-standard design and analysis software, including CDEGS, Dialux, Building Designer, MicroStation, and AutoCAD, with the ability to apply these tools effectively in complex design scenarios.
• Adaptability and Continuous Learning. team player with strong presentation skills and the ability to build effective relationships across teams. Capable of conveying technical information clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/Master degree in Electrical Engineering; certifications preferred.
• 5-8 years of experience in electrical design, analysis, and implementation for Transmission and Distribution (T&D) projects.
