Design Integration Process Specialist
Job Description:
Role Overview: Design Integration (DI) transforms how Amazon delivers buildings, moving from project-based execution to standardized, scalable solutions. This role supports Design Integration Lead in optimizing workflows, documenting processes, and building knowledge systems that enable efficient, repeatable delivery across Amazon's global fulfillment network.
Expected deliverables:
Primary responsibilities: DI Process Pillar.
- This role requires demonstrating bias for action through rapid acquisition of knowledge regarding Amazon's building delivery processes via direct observation, structured stakeholder interviews, and comprehensive documentation review.
- The successful candidate will identify pain points, process handoffs, and decisionmaking patterns while proactively uncovering hidden dependencies and inefficiencies across the complete delivery lifecycle.
- Responsibilities include coordination and active participation in pilot programs and shadowing key stakeholders across design, pre-construction, and field execution phases to develop comprehensive process understanding.
- The framework includes (not limited to) identification, mapping, analysis and documentation of design dependencies, critical to quality design attributes, creation of key performance indicators (KPIs) and design maturity scoring systems.
- Document and standardize workflows across partner teams for implementation, and active participation on pilots. Run spatial assessments for project feasibility and develop multiple design scenarios when needed.
- Maintain sufficient design knowledge and technical proficiency to provide backup coverage for the Design Integration Standards Specialist role when needed.
- Support and advance the Technology Enablement pillar by evaluating and implementing AI-powered tools, parametric design capabilities, and automation solutions that enhance process efficiency and decisionmaking.
- Collaborate with technology teams to develop AI agents in Quick-Suite and integrate emerging technologies like Spectralink for automated clash detection and spatial intelligence.
Required qualifications/certifications:
- Degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Process Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- Strong analytical and documentation skills; proficiency in workflow mapping and data analysis
- Experience with knowledge management systems, databases, and BIM360 / Smartsheet platforms
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D), REVIT, and Naviswork for design coordination
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced, rapidly changing environments
- Advanced English communication skills, verbal and written
Software / programs / tools:
Autodesk suite: AutoCAD, REVIT, Naviswork, Navis Manager
BIM360 for collaborative design management
Experience with complex automated material handling equipment and systems
Ability to organize and track workload aligned with program milestones
