Design Studio Assistant

DESIGN/STUDIO ASSISTANT

· Philadelphia area home textile company seeking full-time entry-level person to provide daily support to both studio manager and designers in a fast-paced, creative design studio. This is an ideal position for someone who excels at both administrative and creative responsibilities. The role involves all aspects of the design process from conception through finished product evaluation. Candidate must be organized; detail oriented and must possess excellent oral, written and visual communication skills. Must be able to multi-task, present finished projects in an organized manner, and meet established deadlines. Individual should have strong drawing skills and an excellent sense of color with awareness of design and color trends. Candidate must be proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Basic knowledge of woven fabrications and print production process is a plus. This is not a graphic designer position.

Studio Manager Assistance

· Assist Studio Manager in creating and maintaining detailed and accurate tech packs/ product specifications sheets.

· Help evaluate quality, construction and color of all new products and communicate changes needed through written and/or visual documentation.

· Maintain sample library and label incoming and outgoing samples.

· Organize color reference library, including color standards, production fabric submit sheets, and color approval charts.

Designer Assistance

· Provide daily support for designers by providing artwork printouts, pulling color chips, keeping art supplies in stock and maintaining color printer.

· Create customer presentation boards.

· Design work to include recoloring and/or rescaling existing artwork as well as creating original plaids, stripes and colorways.

· Preparing design files for production including labeling and color separations.

· Putting artwork into technical repeats.

· Translating/manipulating customer provided proprietary artwork into appropriate finished format.

· Assist the VP of Design with the creation of trend presentation boards.
