Desktop Engineer – Operation and Maintenance (M/F)

About the Role

We are hiring a Desktop Engineer – Operation and Maintenance (M/F) to support the day-to-day IT operations and maintenance of desktop systems. The role involves providing end-user support, ensuring system reliability, and maintaining compliance with IT security standards. You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing upgrades, and keeping IT infrastructure running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Provide operational support and troubleshooting for Windows systems and enterprise applications.
• Perform preventive maintenance and system upgrades.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Ensure compliance with IT security and operational policies.
• Manage incident tickets, document solutions, and maintain asset records.
• Coordinate with IT teams for escalated issues, upgrades, and deployments.
• Provide user training and support to enhance productivity.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in IT operations, desktop engineering, or technical support.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop environments.
• Hands-on experience with system imaging, updates, and endpoint security tools.
• Good understanding of networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Excellent communication skills in English (verbal & written).

Desirable:

• Certifications such as Microsoft MCSA, CompTIA A+, or ITIL.
• Experience with Active Directory, group policies, and user account management.
• Exposure to enterprise IT service management tools (ticketing systems, monitoring tools).
