Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support our growth initiatives and strengthen our presence in the tourism market. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in destination management (DMC), with a strategic mindset focused on building partnerships and identifying new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities – Business Development Manager (DMC)

  • Strategic Business Development: Develop and implement business development strategies focused on growing the DMC’s portfolio across leisure, MICE, corporate, and group travel segments in Qatar.
  • Client & Partner Acquisition: Identify, approach, and secure new business opportunities with international tour operators, travel agents, OTAs, corporates, event planners, and incentive houses.
  • Supplier & Stakeholder Management: Build and manage strong relationships with hotels, attractions, transport providers, venues, and government stakeholders to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality service delivery.
  • Product Development: Design and package destination experiences, tours, events, and incentive programs that align with market demand and showcase Qatar’s tourism offerings.
  • Sales & Contracting: Lead commercial negotiations, rate contracting, and agreement finalization with clients and suppliers, ensuring profitability and compliance with company standards.
  • Market Expansion: Identify new source markets and segments, assess feasibility, and develop go-to-market plans to increase inbound traffic to Qatar.
  • Proposal & Bid Management: Prepare detailed proposals, itineraries, RFP responses, presentations, and costings for leisure groups, MICE, and bespoke client requests.
  • Account Management: Manage key accounts, ensure repeat business, and maintain long-term partnerships through consistent performance and service excellence.
  • Trade Engagement: Represent the company at international and regional trade shows, sales missions, roadshows, and networking events to promote Qatar as a destination.
  • Market Intelligence & Reporting: Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing, and client feedback, providing regular performance reports and insights to management.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with operations, finance, and marketing teams to ensure smooth execution, accurate costing, and client satisfaction.
  • Revenue & Target Achievement: Achieve and exceed revenue, margin, and sales targets, contributing directly to the company’s growth and profitability.

Qualifications & Experience

· Minimum 5–8 years of proven experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles within a Destination Management Company (DMC) or inbound tourism operator.

· Demonstrated success in driving inbound business across leisure, MICE, corporate, and group travel segments, with a strong record of revenue growth and client acquisition.

· Strong knowledge of the Qatar tourism ecosystem, including hotels, attractions, venues, transport providers, government stakeholders, and regulatory frameworks.

· Established network and working relationships with international tour operators, travel agents, OTAs, corporates, and incentive houses across key source markets.

· Proven expertise in contracting, rate negotiations, pricing strategies, and commercial agreements within the tourism and hospitality sector.

· Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to represent the DMC professionally at trade shows, sales missions, and client meetings.

· Proficiency in English is mandatory; Arabic is a strong advantage. Additional languages are considered a plus.

· Willingness to travel internationally as required for business development activities and market expansion.
