Development Coordinator

Job Summary
Responsible for supporting the development efforts at Senior Citizens Inc. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer (CDO), this individual oversees the organization’s stewardship plan and donor acknowledgements, plans and implements SCI’s annual special event fundraiser, oversees annual giving initiatives, and manages the development/donor database. Grant writing and assistance with donor proposals is also required. This position collaborates with SCI’s Marketing Director, business department, and other divisions to execute development goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage annual giving with one or more direct mailing and social media appeals.
  • Coordinate private and foundation grants, including internal and external research, managing the grant submission calendar, writing of the grants, and working with any contracted grant writers if needed.
  • Assist the CDO with proposals, presentations, and other fundraising materials for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Oversee the timely acknowledgement of gifts to SCI donors through personalized correspondence to the various donor segments.
  • Keep an ongoing calendar of needed stewardship outreach to all lead donors, such as the anniversary of major gifts and impact summaries/reports for programmatic and other initiatives tied to major and/or lead gift underwriting.
  • Partner with the Director of Marketing in assistance with agency newsletters, annual reports, and social media outreach.
  • Assist with organization-wide stewardship activities, such as annual blanket drive.
  • Plan, implement, and execute the annual Legends, Leaders, and Lives Well Lived fundraising luncheon, as well as any other development events that may be deemed appropriate for the agency.
  • Manage SCI’s donor database, Raiser’s Edge, including the processing and recording of charitable gifts, including acknowledgement letters.
  • Supervise the creation, production, and mailing of relevant internal and external fundraising reports.
  • Reconcile all private donations each month with SCI’s business office.
  • Must be organized, have excellent time management skills, flexibility, and a detail-oriented nature. Flexibility with scheduling may be required at times.
  • Attend appropriate staff meetings and other duties as assigned by the CDO.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both external and internal customers.

Skills

General knowledge of nonprofit fundraising, including annual fund drives, grant writing and proposal development/budgeting. Donor management/stewardship, event planning and coordination, database management, and data analysis and reporting is required.

This position requires excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, writing, and proofreading skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to work independently with minimal supervision. Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, and other generally used business software. Experience and general knowledge of the following preferred:

  • CRM software, such as Raiser’s Edge
  • Project Management tools, such as Asana
  • Graphic design software, such as Canva
  • Digital marketing and social media campaigns

Education

Bachelor's degree preferred; requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through job/apprentice experience, a 2 year degree, or professional certificate

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
