Role Purpose
Development & Design of automotive Exterior TRIMS
Reporting to
Asst. Manager / manager
Responsibilities/ task
Key Responsibilities with brief description according to priority

Development & design know how of Exterior parts/products like Batches/ Logo, Decal, and other Exterior components
-
Know how of CAD tools Catia V5/NX
-
2D drawings and Tolerance Stack up know how and coordination with supplier.
-
Initial Technical Evaluation of Suppliers and support during nominations.
-
Conducting and reviewing TKO’s and collaborating with Cross functional teams during Sign-off of multiple requirements.

APQP/PPAP & PFMEA: Know-how of phases and ability to participate.

PV Testing & Proto Support: Support prototype builds activities, conduct design reviews, address engineering changes based on physical testing and team feedback to verify performance and quality.

Production Tryouts: Cross-functional Collaboration with Desing, manufacturing, QA, SQA & Supplier to meet cost & project timelines & support during Production Tryout

Analyze design feasibility considering manufacturing processes, tooling constraints, Mold flow reports and coordinate with supplier accordingly.

Supplier Management: Engage with suppliers to ensure deliverables meet quality, timing, and cost targets, supporting purchasing, costing and supply chain teams as required.

Candidate should have executed at least couple of Development Exterior engineering projects throughout the product lifecycle.

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to design, manufacturing, and program timelines, escalating issues as needed.

Having 4-7 years of experience in development of key products like Front & Rear Bumpers and other exterior components
-
Strong communication skills to analyse and deal with critical events during product development cycle

- Understanding of Mold design, tooling feasibilities, 2D drawings, Catia CAD designs, DVPV reports & coordination with teams.

Material Knowledge: Understanding of materials used in trims such as plastics, composites, and grain depths, including their mechanical properties, durability, and surface finishes (flashes etc.)
- Manufacturing & Tood design: Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes like injection molding, painting, assembly, tooling & mold flow.

Proficiency in data management and collaboration platforms to coordinate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams
