Job Responsibilities

Patient Care

  • Prepare and assess patients before dialysis treatment (vital signs, weight, health status).
  • Explain procedures and address patient concerns.
  • Monitor patients throughout the dialysis process, including response and tolerance.
  • Report any abnormal findings or complications to nursing or medical staff immediately.
  • Provide post-treatment care and instructions.

Dialysis Treatment & Machine Operation

  • Set up, prime, and operate dialysis machines safely and according to protocols.
  • Cannulate vascular access sites (AV fistula, grafts) or initiate catheters as permitted by law.
  • Monitor machine parameters during treatment and adjust as needed.
  • Terminate dialysis procedures safely and disinfect equipment.

Equipment & Infection Control

  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain dialysis machines and water treatment systems.
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection control, safety, and quality standards.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and report issues promptly.

Documentation

  • Record patient data during treatments (vitals, machine settings, intake/output, complications).
  • Maintain accurate logs relating to equipment maintenance and water quality.
  • Complete all required documentation in electronic or paper records.

Team Collaboration

  • Assist nurses, nephrologists, and other healthcare staff.
  • Participate in continuing education and training.
  • Support patient education on kidney health, dialysis routines, and care plans (as allowed).

Qualifications Education & Certification

  • Completion of an accredited Dialysis Technician training program.
  • Certification (varies by region): e.g., CHT, CCHT, or BONENT (preferred/required depending on jurisdiction).
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to protocols.
  • Ability to perform cannulation and handle medical equipment.
  • Excellent communication and patient-care skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to patient needs.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
