Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of heavy-duty diesel equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and machinery. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and brake repairs to keep equipment operating at peak efficiency.
- Fabricate and modify parts using hand tools, power tools, welding, and soldering techniques to meet specific repair needs.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems utilizing schematics and electrical experience to identify issues accurately.
- Repair and maintain heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and tractor-trailers.
- Assemble new equipment or parts following technical manuals and schematics to ensure proper installation and operation.
- Perform welding repairs on damaged components or structures to restore integrity and safety standards.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate lifting equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair and automotive diagnostics.
- Dealership experience or extensive work with heavy equipment operation is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, and assembly of mechanical parts.
- Familiarity with excavator, crane, forklift operation, and farm or industrial machinery maintenance.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately for troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, power lifts, and other maintenance equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, shocks & struts.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
