Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of machinery used across various industries, including construction, transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to extend the lifespan of heavy equipment such as skid steers, welding machines, forklifts, and generators.
• Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, wiring, and mechanical components accurately.
• Fabricate parts or modify existing equipment using hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques to meet operational needs.
• Maintain precise records of repairs performed, parts used, and maintenance schedules to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Assist in the assembly and disassembly of complex machinery components during repairs or upgrades.

Experience

• Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance.
• Dealership experience is highly desirable for familiarity with manufacturer specifications and advanced diagnostics.
• Strong knowledge of diesel diagnostics and electrical systems troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, soldering, and metalworking techniques.
• Skilled in operating heavy machinery such as forklifts and skid steers.
• Familiarity with schematics for electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environments; experience with welding is a plus. Pay: $28.84 - $34.73 per hour

Expected hours: 50 per week
