Diesel Mechanic

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment, including trucks, excavators, cranes, and farm machinery. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and industrial equipment. Duties

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues with diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension, air brakes, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery.
  • Fabricate parts and components as needed using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function.
  • Replace or repair brake systems, alignments, tires, suspensions, HVAC systems, and perform engine overhauls to maintain safety standards.
  • Utilize heavy lifting equipment safely to remove and install large components; perform welding and assembly tasks for equipment repairs.
  • Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical failures efficiently.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly and ensuring timely completion of service orders.

Qualifications

  • Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair in a dealership or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of OEM parts specifications and familiarity with Caterpillar and other heavy equipment brands.
  • Experience working with farm machinery, vehicle maintenance including tractor-trailers, and automotive repair procedures.
  • Ability to read schematics accurately and use diagnostic tools effectively.
  • Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding, soldering, and assembly of mechanical components.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, tire service equipment, and heavy equipment operation.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, air brake systems, transmissions, HVAC systems, electrical diagnostics, suspension alignment, and heavy lifting safety protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong mechanical knowledge; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
