Your Role as the Dietary Manager:
Skilled Nursing

Americare Senior Living is seeking an experienced and dedicated Dietary Manager to lead foodservice operations within our skilled nursing community. In this role, you’ll ensure regulatory compliance, high-quality meal service, and a safe, sanitary kitchen environment while delivering nutritious, resident-centered dining experiences.

Summary:
The Dietary Manager oversees all aspects of dietary services, including staff leadership, menu execution, budgeting, inventory, and compliance with state, federal, and company standards. This role works closely with interdisciplinary teams and Registered Dietitians to support resident health, satisfaction, and quality of life.

This role may also be known as:
Dietary Manager, Food Service Director, Nutrition Services Manager, Food Service Manager, or Dining Services Manager.

What You’ll Do:
  • Supervise dietary staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal dietary regulations, company policies, and ASI standards
  • Plan and oversee meal preparation based on dietitian-approved menus
  • Maintain departmental budgets, manage inventory, and order food and supplies
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support resident-centered care
  • Uphold sanitation, infection control, and food safety standards
  • Participate in resident care planning and coordinate with Registered Dietitians
  • Communicate professionally with inspectors, surveyors, and regulatory agencies
  • Support continuous improvement in dining services and resident satisfaction
What You Bring:
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in dietary management, meal planning, and foodservice operations
  • Dietary managerial experience in a healthcare or skilled nursing setting preferred
  • ServSafe Certification or equivalent preferred (or willingness to obtain shortly after hire)
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable state and federal regulations
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
Physical Demands:
  • Stand, sit, walk, and change positions frequently
  • Lift or carry up to 25 lbs.; push and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Reach, balance, kneel, stoop, and bend as needed
Safety Requirements:
  • Follow all safety policies, including use of carts for moving items
  • Wear skid-resistant, supportive footwear to prevent slips and falls
  • Use protective hand equipment when handling knives, sharp objects, and hot surfaces
  • Report work-related injuries within 12 hours and complete required documentation
  • Participate in company drug testing procedures
Work Environment:
This role operates in a professional kitchen and foodservice environment, utilizing stoves, dishwashers, refrigerators, coolers, and other equipment. The environment is indoors with adequate lighting and ventilation.
