Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to digestive health, including endoscopies, colonoscopies, and other minimally invasive interventions.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and physical examinations to inform treatment plans.
  • Administer medications accurately while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety standards.
  • Support patient education on pre- and post-procedure care, such as dietary restrictions, medication management, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, technicians, and support staff utilizing EMR
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist in laboratory specimen collection, processing, and documentation to facilitate accurate diagnostic evaluation.

Qualifications

  • Valid nursing license with current registration in the applicable state.
  • Valid BLS certification
  • Proven experience in medical-surgical units or hospital settings; endoscopy experience is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation.
  • Experience working in diverse clinical environments such as outpatient clinics, inpatient units, emergency rooms, or specialty care centers like gastroenterology or is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology knowledge related to gastrointestinal health, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for procedures, and infection control practices.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $32.00 - $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 18 – 40 per week
