petsmart.com and our mobile app. The team also guides revenue and profit growth for the digital business. Digital team associates focus on delivering initiatives that help our pet parents find and discover products, bring enterprise priorities to life digitally, design new user experiences, build new features and capabilities, and manage key omni-channel programs. We work to showcase our brand digitally through the lens of expertise and love and to provide a personalized experience for our consumers. The team takes a data-driven approach and leverages quantitative and qualitative insights to optimize the experience and make business decisions.
About the Location
Collaborative Work Environment:
At PetSmart, teamwork and connection are core to how we thrive. This role is based at our Phoenix Home Office, with an expectation of working a minimum of four days in the office each week. In a standard work week, associates may work up to one remote “flex day” (with leader approval). About the Job
We are seeking an Analyst on our Digital Analytics team supporting implementation work, including requirements intake, ticket management, QA, and release validation (60%), with the remaining time focused on measurement and reporting, including KPI definition, dashboarding, and recurring performance reporting (40%). The core objective is to keep our analytics instrumentation accurate, testable, and usable, from ticket intake through QA sign-off and into reliable datasets or reports used by the company.
This role is best suited for a self-starting with strong curiosity and a creative, solutions-first mindset; an individual who enjoys understanding how things function, and collaborates well. You’ll get the opportunity to see projects from end to end, you work with a friendly and motivated team who can help you grow your skills as you see fit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
Implementation Support:
- Translate business needs into dataLayer and Firebase requirements with team.
- Debug, and QA implementation for web and app, referencing requirements.
- Investigate and track bugs, partner with product to triage and fix.
- Maintain documentation/taxonomy and ensure ease of use by the organization.
Measurement and Reporting:
- Turn stakeholder asks into the right question, then define how to measure.
- Build dashboards and recurring reports as needed; flag anomalies.
- Handle ad hoc requests and root-cause analysis; deliver actionable insights.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- Strong analytical skills- can assemble and turn data into action for our partners.
- Strong problem solver- can propose solutions, and comfortable “outside the box”.
- Business math– understand basics like penetration, percent change and averages.
- Comfortable discussing analyses and results in a small group setting.
- High level understanding of web analytics implementation.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree, quantitative or marketing field preferred but not necessary.
- 1-2 years of digital analytics experience in Google Analytics or similar platform.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Proficient with MS Office or Google Workspaces applications, including pivot tables.
- Experience with analytics platforms required (Google preferred but not required).
- Experience with validating tagging or Analytics required (QA/Debugging).
- Experience with JIRA a plus, but not required.
- Experience with SQL a plus, but not required.
- Experience with GTM a plus, but not required.
