Digital Content Producer

SUMMARY

The Office of Los Angeles City Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky seeks a Digital Content Producer to lead digital content strategy and execution for the office. You will shape how the Councilwoman’s work and priorities are presented online to inform and engage constituents. This role will report to the Communications Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own and manage a comprehensive content calendar across digital platforms.
• Develop clear content ideas aligned with office priorities and news cycles.
• Write captions and posts in the Councilmember’s established voice and tone.
• Capture, edit, and publish photo and video content for social platforms.
• Produce short-form video for Instagram Reels and TikTok.
• Ensure all content meets office branding and accessibility standards.
• Monitor platform performance and report on engagement trends.
• Track audience growth and use insights to guide future content planning.
• Stay current on digital engagement trends and platform updates.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience producing digital content for an elected official, political campaign, nonprofit, or advocacy organization preferred
• Strong writing skills with the ability to match the voice of a principal.
• Proven record of producing content that drives audience engagement.
• Proficiency in video editing, including Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut and/or Edits.
• Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ability to design clean, social-first graphics optimized for digital platforms.
• Experience producing content for Instagram and TikTok.
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage shifting priorities and tight timelines.
• Collaborative working style and clear communication skills.

SALARY RANGE

$75,000 – $85,000 per year

This is a full-time position, exempt from Civil Service, with full benefits.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
