Digital Marketing Specialist

About Us

Otter House Wellness is a behavioral health treatment facility in Asheville, NC. We’re growing quickly and backed by founders who operate across multiple ventures in the healthcare space. We’re looking for a sharp, driven digital marketer to take full ownership of our online acquisition strategy and grow with us.

The Opportunity

You will own our search presence, both organic and paid, and be directly responsible for the results. This isn’t a role where you’ll manage dashboards and present reports that sound impressive. This is a role where your work either produces measurable outcomes or it doesn’t. We know the difference.

The right person for this role is someone who can walk into a technical conversation about search strategy and go as deep as the conversation requires. Our leadership team has a strong working knowledge of digital marketing, and our interview process is built around real scenarios, not hypotheticals. If that excites you, keep reading.

For the right person, the upside here is significant. The founders behind Otter House Wellness are actively scaling multiple brands and ventures, and this role has a clear path to growing well beyond a single property. We invest heavily in the people who earn it.

What You’ll DoSEO & AI Search Optimization

  • Develop and execute SEO strategies across on-page, off-page, technical, and local search
  • Build content strategies that account for both traditional rankings and AI-generated search results (Google AI Overviews, LLM-based discovery platforms)
  • Conduct keyword research, competitive analysis, and regular technical site audits
  • Manage local search presence including Google Business Profile optimization
  • Monitor algorithm changes and adjust strategy accordingly
  • Own organic performance tracking and reporting

PPC / Google Ads Management

  • Build, manage, and optimize Google Ads campaigns across Search, Display, and Performance Max
  • Write ad copy and develop landing pages that convert
  • Manage bidding strategies, audience targeting, and campaign structure
  • Run ongoing A/B tests on ads and landing pages
  • Set up and maintain accurate conversion tracking
  • Deliver clear reporting that ties ad spend to real business outcomes

Strategy & Growth

  • Own the full acquisition funnel from first click to conversion
  • Work directly with the CEO on strategy and resource allocation
  • Stay current on marketing compliance relevant to our industry
  • Identify new channels and opportunities as they emerge
  • Grow into a team leadership role as the company expands

Who You AreMust-Haves

  • Hands-on experience running Google Ads campaigns. You’ve built campaigns yourself, not just watched someone else do it
  • Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals that goes beyond surface-level talking points
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and Google Tag Manager
  • An analytical mindset. You can explain why you made a decision, not just what you did
  • Self-direction. You don’t wait to be told what to optimize next
  • Strong writing skills
  • Willingness to work on-site in Asheville, NC

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in healthcare or regulated-industry marketing
  • Familiarity with AI search optimization and how large language models surface recommendations
  • Experience with industry-standard SEO and competitive research tools
  • Understanding of conversion rate optimization and landing page strategy
  • Comfort with AI-powered tools for content and workflow

Why This Role

  • You’re not supporting a marketing team. You are the marketing engine. Your work directly drives revenue.
  • You’ll report to and work alongside the CEO. No red tape, no committees.
  • The founders operate across multiple healthcare ventures. Prove yourself here and the opportunities expand well beyond this single role.
  • You’re getting in early at a company with serious growth trajectory and the leadership to back it up.
  • The work matters. Every lead you generate is a real person getting connected to treatment that can change their life.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $50,000 – $70,000 base salary depending on experience
  • Performance bonuses tied to measurable results
  • Health insurance
  • PTO and paid holidays
  • Professional development support (certifications, courses, conferences)

How to Apply

Submit your resume and a brief cover letter. In the cover letter, answer one question:

Walk us through a specific campaign you built: what you did, why you did it, and what happened.

Be specific. Generalizations tell us nothing. Numbers and context tell us everything.

We value clarity of thinking and real capability over credentials. If you’re the right person, we’ll know early in the conversation.
