Direct Support Professional

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. Duties

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
• Monitor residents’ health status by observing patient conditions and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
• Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality.
• Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional planning to promote healthy eating habits.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks and adhering to sanitation standards.
• Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to safely transfer residents with mobility challenges.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals on care plans, providing updates on residents’ progress and any concerns related to patient care or behavioral changes.

Skills

• Proven experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home health environments with a focus on patient care and caregiving.
• Knowledge of first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures to handle urgent situations effectively.
• Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, Mental Health Disorders.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining proper body mechanics.
• Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing signs of health deterioration or behavioral issues.
• Experience in medication administration and understanding of care plans tailored to individual needs.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
