Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor residents’ health status by observing patient conditions and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality.
- Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional planning to promote healthy eating habits.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks and adhering to sanitation standards.
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to safely transfer residents with mobility challenges.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals on care plans, providing updates on residents’ progress and any concerns related to patient care or behavioral changes.
Skills
- Proven experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home health environments with a focus on patient care and caregiving.
- Knowledge of first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures to handle urgent situations effectively.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, Mental Health Disorders.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining proper body mechanics.
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing signs of health deterioration or behavioral issues.
- Experience in medication administration and understanding of care plans tailored to individual needs.
