Direct Support Professional

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide essential care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 CPS services in the community and home settings
• Support participation in:
• Community outings (stores, libraries, recreation)
• Social and recreational activities
• Volunteer or pre-employment experiences
• Assist with:
• Communication and social skills
• Money management and daily living skills
• Maintain accurate daily documentation and progress notes (ODP compliant)
• Follow the individual’s ISP (Individual Support Plan)
• Ensure safety, dignity, and respect at all times

Requirements

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s and memory care), autism support, hospice care, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays
• Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training, and medication administration are advantageous
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, team members, and healthcare providers
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting diverse populations including seniors and individuals with complex health needs
• Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or overnight hours as needed
• Must be 18 years or older
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license + reliable transportation (REQUIRED)
• Willingness to transport individual in personal vehicle
• Mileage reimbursement provided

Ability to pass:

• Criminal background check (PA State Police)
• Child Abuse Clearance
• FBI Fingerprinting (if applicable)
• Completion of required ODP trainings, including:
• Direct Support Professional Orientation
• CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
• Incident Management training
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism
• Experience providing CPS or community-based services
• Patient, engaging, and self-motivated personality

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
