Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Genesee County

Our Direct Support Professionals provide daily support to individuals with developmental disabilities within the home setting. Working with a team, DSPs assist with daily living skills, personalized goals, arts and crafts, games, sensory activities, and accompany on outings in the community. Starting pay is $19.25 an hour for part time and full time positions. We are currently recruiting for overnight positions in Orleans County. Overnight hours come with an additional $3/hour added to the base pay!!

Shift Differentials:

Weekends: $2/hour

Overnights: $3/hour

Evenings: $.50/hour

AVAILABLE DSP RESIDENTIAL POSITIONS:

Part time and full time opportunities are available. Schedule may include evenings, overnights, and weekend hours.

WHAT WOULD I BE DOING?

• Provides daily care to the people we support with developmental, intellectual and/or physical disabilities.
• Assists and encourages the people we support to care for immediate personal needs.
• Assists with planning daily activities and participates in the activities in small groups.
• Documents all program data accurately and timely.
• Provide transportation as needed with agency vehicles.
• Use various software platforms for specific job functions.
• All full time DSP’s in the residential program will be required to obtain and maintain medication certification.
• Meal preparation.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DSP:

• A valid NYS driver's license with an acceptable driving record, per agency policy, and reliable transportation to and from work is required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• The physical ability to transfer and lift people with mobility restraints.
• The drive to help others with personal goals and work in a team environment.
• The ability to efficiently use a computer.
