Overview
The Cost Planning Director will play a critical role in the successful implementation of the Qiddiya Approach for Cost Management, ensuring that projects are delivered with optimal value and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Qiddiya Approach: Get up to speed with and implement the Qiddiya Cost Planning Approach, ensuring compliance with established processes and policies.
- Cost Optimization: Optimize value in project outcomes through effective cost planning and management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Business Units as required to run the cost planning function, fostering a cohesive team environment.
- Team Leadership: Manage and develop the Cost Planning Team, establishing best practices for accurate cost planning.
- Consultant Management: Oversee the Consultant (Quantity Surveyor) to ensure detailed cost planning services are delivered effectively, presenting outcomes at stage gate reviews.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders and maintain communication plans to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Project Leadership: Take the lead in cost planning for other Business Units as needed, managing the intricacies of major projects and guiding Project Managers on design functionality.
- Value Engineering: Proactively contribute to adding value through innovative ideas and value engineering during the design process.
- Networking: Maintain strong relationships with peers in the Cost Planning and QS consulting community, ensuring networking within the greater Qiddiya business.
- Commercial Acumen: Demonstrate commercial astuteness in decision-making and implement plans to improve the bottom line.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster the establishment and maintenance of efficient practices to ensure a high level of knowledge regarding technical aspects of building services and design intent.
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Institute membership such as the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS), Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
Experience
- 20+ years in the Construction Industry
- In Cost Planning, Estimating or Quantity Surveying
- Has managed large value risk projects
- Is considered an expert in their field and has gained all aspects of technical capabilities in Cost Planning and Estimating
- Is to provide guidance and support to other Cost Planners as a mentor
