The Director of Manufacturer Partnerships will oversee and strengthen strategic partnerships with key manufacturers across the plumbing vertical. Primary responsibilities include building and executing manufacturer engagement strategies, negotiating cost and program agreements, and aligning with internal teams to drive profitable growth through part sales and margin improvement. This role collaborates closely with sales, procurement, finance, and marketing to ensure execution of initiatives that expand category offerings and deliver competitive advantage.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with plumbing manufacturers, master distributors, and vendors to expand product access and enable growth opportunities.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and prioritizes prospective manufacturers and product categories aligned to strategic plumbing expansion.
  • Leads the sourcing and negotiation of manufacturer agreements, contracts, rebates, pricing, and inventory levels in alignment with company objectives.
  • Provides regular performance reporting and analysis to measure manufacturer program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborates with sales and procurement to align manufacturer programs with customer demand and category strategies.
  • Facilitates joint business planning sessions with key manufacturers to identify growth opportunities and operational efficiencies.
  • Monitors competitive marketplace activity in the plumbing sector and translates insights into actionable strategies.
  • Provides demand and forecast inputs to support inventory planning and optimize financial performance.
  • Represents the company at relevant plumbing industry events to strengthen presence and deepen manufacturer relationships.
  • Makes regular manufacturer visits to support relationships and business development.
Other:
  • Up to 40% travel per month depending on location and projects
  • Maintains proficiency with company computer systems in aspects related to manufacturer program management.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in related work experience.
  • 7 or more years experience in vendor management, strategic sourcing, distribution or manufacturing, preferably within plumbing or building products.
  • 5 or more years experience in manufacturer or supplier relationship management.
  • Strong background in negotiation, program development, and P&L impact.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across business functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate insights into action.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experienced with office technology and virtual meeting platforms.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
This full-time position requires approximately 40 hours per week and involves regular physical and sensory activity, including:
  • Bending, lifting, and carrying materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged sitting (up to 8 hours), with intermittent standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Continuous use of fingers, hands, and arms for computer and office-related tasks
  • Frequent use of office equipment such as computers, phones, and scanners (up to 8 hours daily)
  • Regular verbal communication via phone and in-person interactions (up to 6 hours daily)
