Job Overview
The Director of PM After Care Program is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of the aftercare program, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This role involves coordinating activities, managing staff, and fostering positive relationships with students and their families. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education or childcare, with a passion for childhood development and behavior management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging aftercare programs that promote learning and social interaction among children.
- Supervise staff and volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective classroom management.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe environment for all participants.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Collaborate with educators to align aftercare activities with school curriculum and objectives.
- Organize special events, tutoring sessions, and recreational activities that cater to diverse interests.
- Monitor children's behavior and implement behavior management strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and program evaluations.
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills to create a positive learning environment.
- Knowledge of first aid practices to ensure the safety of all participants.
- Experience in education to support diverse learning needs.
- Proven teaching experience or experience working with students in various capacities (tutoring, sports coaching, etc.).
- Background in childcare settings such as daycare or camp environments.
- Familiarity with Christian counseling principles is a plus.
- Understanding of early childhood education principles and childhood development theories.
- Ability to manage behaviors effectively while fostering a supportive atmosphere.
