Job Description

Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds Community College is seeking a Director of Annual Giving to lead and manage the college’s day-to-day development activities. This role is responsible for directing the annual fund, overseeing the scholarship program, preparing and reporting on corporate and foundation grant proposals, managing donor communications, and advancing alumni outreach.

The Director also maintains a portfolio of mid-level donors to strengthen relationships and support long-term giving. This position provides direct supervision to the Scholarship Coordinator and the Manager of Advancement Services and reports to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement.

Special Assignments

KSA's/Required Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Considerable knowledge of fundraising best practices as well as donor and fundraiser codes of ethics.
  • Demonstrated skill in fostering relationships with individual, corporate, foundation, and community organization donors and prospects.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise professional and office support staff and direct day-to-day work activities.
  • Demonstrated skill in budget development and management.
  • Demonstrated skill in volunteer management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of people and handle multiple tasks with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, with a variety of constituencies including community partners, students, faculty, administrators, and staff.
  • Proficiency in using current fundraising software programs, including donor and prospect databases.
