The Director, Block T Association/Assistant Athletic Director is responsible for developing, strengthening and maintaining relationships with former student-athletes and engaging them in the life of TCU in a way that leads to increased philanthropic support. The Director will identify, cultivate and solicit high-level prospective donors for support of Intercollegiate Athletics and other University priorities. The position serves as the University Advancement and Athletic Department liaison between the Block T Association board, members and all former student-athletes, and plans/oversees all events, programming and special projects related to the Association.
1. Develops, leads and manages a comprehensive alumni relations program that creates meaningful engagement opportunities for former student-athletes and increases philanthropic support for TCU.
2. Works closely with key volunteer leaders and stakeholders to develop and oversee programs, events and special projects that support Intercollegiate Athletics in a way that is NCAA compliant and consistent with TCU’s mission, vision and values.
3. Cultivates, solicits and stewards a portfolio of athletics donors to secure major gifts (100,000+)
4. Provides stewardship to athletics donors and ensures that the Block T Association and former student-athletes benefit from best-practice donor relations programs and activities.
5. Plans, oversees and manages special events – including, but not limited to, fall/spring Block T Association golf tournaments, fall Horned Frog Classic golf tournament, and Block T Hall of Fame banquet.
6. Coordinates Block T Association annual and other meetings.
7. Secures corporate and other sponsorship and event support.
8. Coordinates Block T Association membership by recruiting new members, leading its board of directors, coordinating regular board meetings, annual meeting and other events.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
