Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Business Development to help grow our census and strengthen referral partnerships. The Director of Business Development is responsible for driving census growth through strategic relationship building, community outreach, and effective marketing initiatives. This role serves as a key liaison between the facility and hospitals, physicians, case managers, and other referral sources. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, personable, and experienced in healthcare marketing or admissions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, physicians, case managers, and community partners
  • Implement and execute strategic marketing plans to drive admissions and increase census
  • Conduct regular facility tours for prospective residents and families
  • Collaborate with the admissions team to ensure smooth referral and intake processes
  • Track and analyze referral trends, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Represent the facility at community events, networking opportunities, and healthcare meetings
  • Maintain accurate records of contacts, outreach efforts, and results
  • Stay informed on market trends and competitor activity

Requirements

  • Previous experience in healthcare marketing, admissions, or business development (skilled nursing experience preferred)
  • Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed census and referral goals
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or events
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
  • Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred)
  • 3–5+ years of experience in healthcare marketing, business development, or SNF admissions
  • Strong understanding of post-acute care, Medicare/Medicaid, and managed care
