Job Description:
The Director of Content & Creative leads the vision, strategy, and execution of LSU Online & Continuing Education’s creative and content efforts. This role provides strategic leadership to a multidisciplinary team responsible for video production, graphic design, digital and social media content, SEO-focused website content, and advertising creative. The Director ensures all creative output aligns with LSU’s brand identity, advances marketing goals, and supports the broader institutional mission. Working collaboratively across Marketing, Digital Strategy, Recruitment & Retention, and Program Success, the Director shapes a cohesive content strategy that resonates with target audiences, drives engagement, and strengthens LSU OCE’s position as a national leader in online education.
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership (25%)
- Define and implement the overall vision for content and creative strategy, aligning with LSU OCE’s brand and enrollment goals.
- Serve as the primary steward of brand identity, ensuring creative assets reflect LSU’s standards across all platforms and campaigns.
- Partner with leadership across marketing, digital strategy, and academic units to create content strategies that amplify program offerings and institutional priorities.
Creative Development & Oversight (25%)
- Oversee the production of video, photography, design, and multimedia storytelling that drives engagement and inspires prospective students.
- Lead the development of creative assets for digital advertising, website, social media, and print collateral.
- Ensure high-quality, innovative creative output that enhances LSU’s reputation and meets strategic campaign objectives.
Content Strategy & Development (20%)
- Direct the creation of SEO-informed web content, digital ad copy, social media content, and thought leadership pieces.
- Ensure messaging is clear, consistent, audience-centered, and optimized for recruitment and engagement.
- Establish editorial standards and content governance processes.
Team Management & Development (20%)
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of content creators, writers, designers, and video specialists.
- Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing culture that balances creativity with results-driven execution.
- Allocate resources and prioritize projects to align with organizational goals.
Collaboration & Integration (5%)
- Work closely with the Director of Digital Strategy to integrate creative assets into digital campaigns.
- Partner with the Director of Program Success to align messaging with academic program goals.
- Collaborate with the Office of Communications & University Relations to ensure systemwide consistency.
Other duties as assigned (5%)
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 7 years of related experience, showing progression in content creation, creative direction, or brand management with 3 or more of those years in leadership managing creative and/or content teams.
Specific Experience:
Demonstrated expertise in brand management, digital advertising, content strategy, and creative production.
Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in higher education marketing or agency environment.
- Strong understanding of SEO, analytics, and data-driven decision making.
- Portfolio demonstrating high-quality creative leadership across multiple platforms.
