We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Marketing Communications to take ownership of client-side communications success. This role is critical in leading a high-performing team to consistently deliver exceptional Client Deliverables, maximize Client ROI, and ensure long-term Client Success. We are looking for a seasoned agency leader who thrives in a high-growth environment and can bring a blend of strategic vision and hands-on operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Success & ROI: Take full responsibility for the overall success and measurable return on investment (ROI) of all client communications programs and deliverables.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute world-class marketing communications strategies for agency clients that align with their specific business objectives and support their rapid scaling goals.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing Marketing Communications team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement in service of client goals.
- Operational Excellence: Take full ownership of the department’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring documentation is current, processes are optimized, and best practices are consistently applied across all client communications channels.
- Integrated Campaign Management: Oversee all core communications functions for clients, including:
- Email Marketing: Direct strategy and execution for client email campaigns to drive their engagement, retention, and conversions.
- Social Media Management: Guide client brand presence, strategy, and content across all relevant social media platforms to grow their audience and enhance their brand reputation.
- CRM & Data: Leverage CRM systems to segment client audiences, personalize communications, and ensure data-driven decision-making across all MarCom activities to maximize client impact.
- Client & Stakeholder Relations: Act as the primary, senior client-facing representative for the marketing team, managing relationships with external clients, partners, and internal stakeholders with exceptional communication and presentation skills.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in marketing and communications, with a significant tenure in a leadership role.
- Agency Background: Proven, substantial experience working within a Marketing Agency environment is essential.
- Team Leadership: Substantial experience in successfully managing, growing, and mentoring a diverse communications team in an agency setting.
- Client-Centric Skills: Demonstrated track record of managing and exceeding client expectations, securing client retention, and clearly reporting on Client Deliverables and ROI.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep, hands-on experience and expertise in:
- CRM Management and data utilization.
- Developing and optimizing large-scale Email Marketing programs.
- Comprehensive Social Media strategy and execution.
- Environment: Demonstrated success and comfort working in a fast-scaling, high-pace, or start-up/scale-up environment.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, especially in client-facing and high-stakes internal/external scenarios.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is a plus.
