About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Director of Engineering to join The Creekside Hotel Dubai. The role is responsible for leading the Engineering Department in maintaining the hotel’s assets, driving sustainability initiatives, and ensuring safe and efficient operations that meet Accor brand standards and UAE regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to the Engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Oversee all engineering and maintenance operations to ensure guest areas, back-of-house facilities, and equipment are well-maintained and compliant with safety and quality standards.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects within approved timelines and budgets.
  • Develop preventive maintenance programs and energy-saving strategies to support cost efficiency and sustainability targets.
  • Manage and monitor service contracts, ensuring timely renewals and adherence to agreed service levels.
  • Collaborate with hotel leadership to support renovation, CAPEX, and project management initiatives.
  • Conduct regular inspections of all areas, identifying opportunities for improvement in efficiency, safety, and guest comfort.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and ensure compliance with local authority regulations (Civil Defense, Municipality, DEWA, etc.).
  • Lead crisis management and emergency response readiness related to fire, safety, and utilities.
  • Champion a “safety-first” culture, training the team on emergency procedures and preventive measures.

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to operational excellence.


    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil).
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar leadership role within a luxury or upper-upscale hotel environment .
    • Proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a focus on preventive maintenance and sustainability.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel maintenance systems (e.g., FCS, Opera, or related CMMS).
