Director of Engineering (Building Materials Manufacturing)

Lead a high-performing engineering function within a large-scale industrial environment, delivering complex capital projects while driving operational reliability and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute capital projects, including process design, equipment specification, layouts, and cost estimates.
• Manage and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance, performance feedback, and career development.
• Oversee full project lifecycle delivery, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and contractor coordination.
• Partner closely with operations to support plant performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (safety, environmental, finance, procurement) to ensure successful project execution.
• Conduct regular site visits to support plant operations and identify optimisation opportunities.

About You

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or similar); PE licence preferred.
• 15+ years’ experience in heavy industry, mining, or aggregates.
• Strong expertise in plant systems, including crushing, screening, conveying, and material processing.
• Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and large-scale projects.
• Skilled in AutoCAD and standard engineering tools, with a solid understanding of process modelling and plant design.
