Who You Are:

VENU is seeking a dynamic, sales-driven Director of Event Sales to lead and oversee the full event lifecycle within our upscale restaurant and event hall space. This role combines high-level event planning and execution with a strong emphasis on event sales and revenue growth. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on operator, capable of building relationships, closing deals, and delivering exceptional guest experiences from concept to completion.

What You Are Accountable For:

Event Sales & Business Development

· Proactively generate new event business through networking, outreach, and relationship-building with corporate clients, wedding planners, local organizations, and community partners.

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy to achieve monthly and annual revenue targets.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries, provide customized proposals, and close contracts efficiently.
  • Conduct tours of the venue, highlighting its unique features and services to potential clients.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create and promote event packages, seasonal campaigns, and promotional events.

Client Relations & Account Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all booked events, ensuring a smooth client experience from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Manage event leads, contracts, deposits, and communication using CRM or booking systems.

Event Planning & Coordination

  • Work closely with clients to plan all event elements, including layout, décor, timelines, food & beverage, and technical needs.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (culinary, bar, service, facilities) to align on expectations and logistics.
  • Source and manage outside vendors when necessary.

Event Execution & On-Site Management

  • Oversee the execution of all events, ensuring they run smoothly, on time, and within budget.
  • Manage day-of logistics, staff coordination, and client satisfaction.
  • Quickly resolve any issues or last-minute changes with professionalism and discretion

Team & Operational Leadership

  • Lead and train the event team, including coordinators, servers, and event support staff.
  • Maintain an event calendar, staffing schedule, and checklist to ensure consistent execution quality.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager on forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis.

Required Qualifications:

· 5+ years of experience in event sales and management, preferably in a restaurant, catering, or event venue environment.

· Proven track record of exceeding event sales goals and driving revenue growth.

· Strong negotiation, communication, and customer service skills.

· Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities in high-pressure settings.

· Proficiency with event sales tools and CRM systems (e.g., Tripleseat, Hubspot).

· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Existing client base or network in weddings, corporate, or social event markets.

· Knowledge of food & beverage trends, banquet operations, and AV/event technology.

· Experience in hospitality marketing or sales enablement.

Physical Requirements:

· Must be at least 21 years of age.

· Must be available to work nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs

· Must be able to lift and transport up to 50 pounds on occasion.
