Director of Finance

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Finance to lead the financial operations of our construction and fit-out business in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale financial functions within the UAE, with in-depth knowledge of local regulations, compliance, and industry-specific financial practices.

The Director of Finance will be responsible for driving financial strategy, ensuring fiscal discipline, and supporting the company’s growth through effective financial planning, risk management, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the financial strategy aligned with the company’s vision and business objectives.
• Lead and manage all finance functions, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and reporting.
• Oversee financial operations for construction and fit-out projects, ensuring accurate project costing, margin control, and timely billing/collections.
• Ensure compliance with UAE laws, VAT regulations, IFRS standards, and industry-specific financial practices.
• Establish internal controls, financial policies, and governance frameworks to safeguard company assets.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO/Board to support strategic decision-making.
• Manage banking relationships, treasury, and funding requirements for projects.
• Monitor risk, implement cost-control measures, and ensure optimal working capital management.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to maintain high levels of performance and professionalism.
• Collaborate with project, operations, and procurement teams to ensure financial alignment across departments.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s degree / MBA preferred).
• Professional certifications such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or CMA required.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive finance experience in the UAE, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience in construction, contracting, or fit-out industry is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of project-based financial management, cost control, and revenue recognition.
• Excellent knowledge of UAE tax, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of integrity, analytical thinking, and business acumen.
