A rapidly growing, private equity-backed home services organization is seeking a Director of Finance to serve as a strategic business partner and leader within a decentralized, high-growth platform.

This is a high-impact role for a finance leader who combines strong technical expertise with sharp business acumen and thrives in an entrepreneurial, low-ego environment. The organization is outperforming growth targets (currently 10% ahead of plan), has achieved record-setting customer satisfaction scores, and is preparing for continued expansion, including potential acquisitions.

The Opportunity

The Director of Finance will lead the finance function while partnering closely with operations and sales leadership to drive profitable, sustainable growth. This individual will play a critical role in enhancing financial rigor, improving reporting transparency, and building scalable processes across a decentralized platform.

There is meaningful long-term upside, including the opportunity to expand responsibilities across the broader California platform and build a team of up to six finance professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance team; build bench strength and long-term capability
• Serve as a strategic partner to operations and sales to drive revenue and EBITDA growth
• Improve financial reporting accuracy, transparency, and consistency
• Rebuild stakeholder confidence in financial integrity and forecasting
• Develop scalable processes that support decentralized field operations
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
• Support M&A activity including diligence, audits, and post-acquisition integration
• Build actionable financial insights from distributed branch-level data

• Many processes are new and not yet tested at scale
• Limited historical data to inform long-term planning
• Need to enhance reporting credibility and consistency
• Balancing structure and discipline within a decentralized operating model

Ideal Profile

• Proven finance leader with a strong track record of team development and driving revenue/EBITDA growth
• Strong business acumen — able to operate as a true business partner, not just a functional leader
• Background in finance/accounting with experience leading audits and diligence processes
• Experience in home services, route-based services, or B2B service organizations preferred
• Comfortable operating in decentralized, field-based environments
• Experience with acquisitions and post-close integration
• Gregarious and relationship-driven; able to build trust across branches
• Demonstrates “positive discontent” — always looking to improve, not accepting status quo
• Hands-on, low-ego, collaborative leadership style

Compensation

• Base Salary: $130,000 – $175,000
• Bonus: 30%
