Job Overview
We are seeking a highly strategic and experienced Director of Maintenance to oversee and elevate the maintenance operations of a large heavy‑truck fleet. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in fleet maintenance, cost optimization, reliability improvement, and leading large multi‑site maintenance teams. This role requires a leader capable of transforming maintenance operations, maximizing fleet availability, and ensuring operational efficiency in a high‑demand transportation environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Fleet Maintenance Leadership

Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy tailored to heavy‑truck fleets with high utilization.

Ensure maximum fleet availability, reduce roadside breakdowns, and support logistics operations.

Establish preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance frameworks.
Cost & Budget Management

Lead full maintenance budgeting, including spare parts, tires, lubricants, workshops, and labor.

Drive cost‑saving initiatives while maintaining operational reliability and safety.

Optimize vendor contracts and negotiate service agreements to achieve measurable savings.
Maintenance Operations Management

Oversee multi‑site workshops (in‑house and outsourced) with diverse technical teams.

Supervise maintenance on key truck systems including engines, transmission, air brake systems, suspension, and electrical systems.

Manage daily breakdowns, road incidents, and ensure rapid turnaround to minimize downtime.
Fleet Reliability Improvement

Apply best‑practice methodologies such as RCM, TPM, Lean Maintenance, and root‑cause analysis.

Develop inspection programs based on vehicle type, mileage, and operational load.

Continuously improve reliability indicators and reduce repeat failures.
Leadership & Team Development

Lead, mentor, and develop a large team of supervisors, technicians, mechanics, and electricians.

Build a high‑performance culture focused on safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Implement technical training programs for modern truck technologies (European, Asian, and US brands).
Supplier & Contract Management

Evaluate and select suppliers for spare parts, tires, workshops, and technical services.

Manage contracts and ensure compliance with performance KPIs.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (Master’s preferred).

Minimum 13 years of experience in heavy‑truck fleet maintenance

Strong knowledge of heavy‑duty trucks (European, Japanese, American brands).

Proven track record in cost optimization and operational efficiency.

Strong analytical and decision‑making skills.
