Job Description:

Steak n Shake seeks a Marketing Director who will serve as a forward-thinking partner for our restaurants creating and executing a marketing strategy and on-site appeal that attracts and engages customers. In this role, you will use your ability to plan, develop and execute marketing campaigns following strategic objectives to ensure local restaurant marketing and in restaurant merchandising drive desired objectives. This position will drive the enhancement of customers' in-restaurant shopping experience and provide our franchisees with the marketing, digital media, and online tools they need to build incremental sales.

Top candidates will demonstrate exceptional communication skills, be self-managed, have strong time management skills, and have the ability to take a general concept and build out a business growth strategy and corresponding executional plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies and plans that deliver on annual business objectives and topline growth targets (customer, product, promotion, pricing, channel, KPIs…).
  • Lead cross-functional team and agency partners in new product developments, promotional and activation plans in order to maximize consumer acquisition, engagement and loyalty / retention.
  • Measure market impact for new products, promotions and marketing activities. Recommend corrective actions when needed.
  • Establish Vendor Suite – determine needed partners, roles and manage relationships.
  • Work in conjunction with Digital Marketing Manager to build out social media and digital calendar.
  • Manage franchisees and company stores relationships including local store marketing and in-store product and promotional displays and activations.
  • Execute annual marketing plan at the local level, working with key stakeholders to drive brand engagement and loyalty.
  • Provide direction to Design team for new product development, LTOs, packaging, print displays, promotions and other consumer and store activations.
  • Coordinate with design, operations and logistics for all traditional print materials and POP needed for in-store activation, events and franchise / partner outreach.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of marketing and merchandising experience
  • Experience in QSR restaurants preferred
  • Ability to think, innovate and communicate at both a strategic level and tactical level
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate cross-functionally to inspire action and drive results
  • People and project leadership either through direct reporting and/ or project-based work

This position will require limited travel. Candidates need to be located in the Indianapolis area or be willing to relocate to Indianapolis.
