Director of Materials Management

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Materials Management to lead our materials management operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end-to-end management of materials planning, purchasing, and logistics to ensure seamless manufacturing processes and optimal inventory levels. Your leadership will drive efficiency, foster supplier relationships, and implement innovative materials management strategies that support our production goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive materials management strategies aligned with schedules, demand planning, and business objectives.
• Oversee supplier management processes, including vendor selection, performance evaluation, contract negotiations, and relationship building.
• Manage inventory control procedures to maintain optimal stock levels, reduce waste, and support lean manufacturing principles.
• Coordinate production planning and scheduling by integrating MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to ensure timely availability of materials.
• Implement best practices in supply chain management, including demand forecasting, inventory management, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Proven experience in materials management or supply chain leadership within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, contracts, and purchasing strategies.
• Familiarity with logistics operations, warehouse management, and inventory control practices.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and foster collaborative relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.

Pay: $47,840.00 - $76,960.00 per year
