Director of New Business - Middle East

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Responsible for developing regional market strategies and driving high-level client acquisition in the oil and gas testing sector across the Middle East. This role entails building and optimizing the local marketing system, establishing deep collaboration mechanisms with key national oil companies (NOCs) such as ADNOC, ARAMCO, QatarEnergy, and KPC, and enhancing the company's brand influence and market penetration in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement regional market expansion and branding strategies to enhance the influence of the oil and gas testing business in core Middle Eastern countries.
  • Build a regional key account management system and establish long-term cooperation mechanisms with key clients such as ARAMCO, ADNOC, QatarEnergy, and KPC.
  • Design and optimize the regional marketing system, including strategic planning, technical service promotion, and localization strategies.
  • Lead the regional business development team to improve client acquisition efficiency and strategic customer coverage, ensuring annual growth targets are met.
  • Act as the company's senior representative in the Middle East, building relationships with high-level clients, industry organizations, and government entities to enhance brand recognition and industry voice.

Qualifications:

  • Industry Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the international testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) industry.
    • Over 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Business Unit Director, Regional Head) in major TIC companies or oilfield service providers such as SGS, BV, Intertek, TÜV (Rheinland/SÜD/NORD), DEKRA, Eurofins (relevant divisions), Applus+, or Element Materials Technology in the Middle East oil and gas sector.
    • Proven track record of leading or significantly contributing to large-scale oil and gas testing projects (upstream, midstream, downstream) for key NOCs such as Saudi Aramco, ADNOC, KPC, and QatarEnergy.
    • Deep understanding of the complex business environment and risk management practices in the Middle East.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Hold advanced technical certifications in oil and gas inspection, such as API 510/, ASNT NDT Level III, NACE CIP Level 3 / Corrosion Specialist, etc.
    • In-depth knowledge of regional oil and gas regulations and standards, including localization requirements (e.g., SASO, ESMA), procurement processes, technical specifications, and commercial practices of major NOCs and IOCs.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong skills in strategic planning, business development, key account management, and regional P&L management.
    • Excellent financial acumen and operational management capabilities.
    • Fluent in English (spoken and written); Arabic fluency is highly preferred. Proficiency in additional Middle Eastern languages is a plus.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Proven experience in leading large, diverse, and cross-cultural teams (preferably 100+ staff across technical, sales, and operations functions).
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including cross-cultural communication, team motivation, talent development, and conflict resolution.
    • Well-established network at executive levels within Saudi Aramco, ADNOC, KPC, QatarEnergy, major IOCs, EPC contractors, and oilfield service companies.
    • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related fields. MBA or advanced management education is a plus. Knowledge of digital inspection technologies is desirable.
