Fit Recruiting is proud to partner with one of the Gulf Coast's top construction firms in their search for a Director of People and Culture. We are looking for a strategic HR leader to develop and execute the people strategy for the company’s upcoming decade of growth. This leader will create the people plan that supports the company's expansion. From workforce planning and leadership development to culture stewardship, this role will impact every part of the organization. Salary is in the $150K range, depending on experience, benefits, growth, and development.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s/MBA preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressive HR or people leadership experience — ideally within construction, engineering, or related industries
  • Proven success leading HR in scaling organizations from mid-market to enterprise level
  • Strong background in leadership development, workforce planning, and succession strategy
  • Deep understanding of HR compliance, labor laws, and safety culture best practices
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and change management skills


Duties:

Strategic Leadership

  • Drive a long-term people and culture roadmap aligned with the company growth vision
  • Partner with executives on workforce planning, succession, and organizational design
  • Champion company values through leadership, recognition, and HR best practices

Talent & Growth

  • Build a scalable recruiting strategy to support double-digit annual headcount growth
  • Strengthen pipelines through partnerships with universities and trade school
  • Forecast workforce needs to ensure the right talent is in place for expansion

Leadership Development

  • Launch leadership and management development programs to grow future executives
  • Create structured training paths for both professional staff and trade divisions
  • Implement mentorship and career progression programs that enhance retention

People Operations

  • Oversee payroll, benefits, compensation, and compliance across all business units
  • Standardize policies and systems while maintaining flexibility across divisions
  • Use HR technology and analytics to drive smarter, data-based people decisions

Culture & Engagement

  • Design performance frameworks that tie accountability to business outcomes
  • Lead engagement initiatives that build safety, satisfaction, and long-term retention
  • Serve as a visible, approachable culture ambassador across offices and jobsites
