About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Director of Programs to lead and build our Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) program and Regional Center services, including Independent Living Services (ILS) and Supported Living Services (SLS).
This role will be responsible for developing, structuring, and expanding both programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while creating high-quality, person-centered services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The ideal candidate is a builder and operator who has experience launching or expanding programs and can create strong operational systems, recruit staff, and develop sustainable service delivery models.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Development & Expansion
- Lead the build-out and expansion of the DOR, ILS, and SLS programs
- Develop program structure, workflows, and operational systems
- Create policies, procedures, and service delivery models
- Identify growth opportunities and support program expansion across regions
- Ensure programs are scalable and sustainable
Program Oversight
- Oversee day-to-day operations of DOR employment services and Regional Center programs
- Ensure services align with Individual Program Plans (IPP) and participant goals
- Monitor program outcomes, quality metrics, and service delivery
- Implement systems to track performance and service impact
Leadership & Staff Development
- Recruit, train, and supervise Program Managers, Coordinators, and Direct Support staff
- Develop training systems and operational standards
- Provide coaching and leadership support to program teams
- Build a strong culture focused on empowerment and independence
Compliance & Partnerships
- Ensure compliance with Regional Center, Title 17, and Department of Rehabilitation requirements
- Maintain strong relationships with Regional Centers, service coordinators, and community partners
- Ensure documentation, service authorizations, and billing processes meet regulatory standards
- Conduct internal audits and quality improvement initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation, Human Services, or related field
- 5+ years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- 3+ years leadership experience managing programs or teams
- Experience working with Regional Centers and/or Department of Rehabilitation
- Strong understanding of ILS/SLS program models and person-centered services
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience launching or expanding Regional Center programs
- Knowledge of California DDS and Title 17 regulations
- Experience overseeing multi-site or statewide programs
Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
