Director of Purchasing

Arrowhead Talent Solutions is helping a manufacturing company find a Director of Purchasing in the Alliance area.

This role will lead procurement strategy, vendor management, and contract negotiations to ensure the company secures high‑quality products at competitive prices. This role drives operational excellence, cost savings, and alignment of purchasing processes with company goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead & develop purchasing team : Provide leadership, training, and organizational planning.
• Vendor management : Build strong vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and onboard new suppliers.
• Contract oversight : Negotiate and manage long‑term agreements, ensuring compliance and value optimization.
• Operational alignment : Ensure purchasing supports production schedules and organizational objectives.
• Systems & data integrity : Optimize use of MRP systems, forecasting models, and pricing matrices.
• Logistics support : Oversee freight sourcing, shipping efficiency, and vendor contributions to company events.
• Cross‑functional collaboration : Partner with internal teams and communicate purchasing updates across the organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of supply chain or procurement management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong negotiation, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency in purchasing systems, budgeting, and standard office software.
• Ability to manage confidential information and travel as needed.
