Position Overview
As the Director of Sales, you’ll lead the hotel’s sales strategy to drive revenue across all segments—group, corporate, leisure, meetings, and events. You will develop and manage relationships with key clients, analyze market trends, coach your sales team, and collaborate closely with the General Manager to meet or exceed revenue targets. This leadership role ensures alignment with brand standards and values, elevating guest satisfaction and maximizing profitability.

Key Responsibilities
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Actively prospect, qualify, and negotiate with key clients to drive business to the hotel.
  • Maintain strong relationships with local businesses, convention bureaus, travel agencies, and the sales team.
  • Conduct sales calls, site tours, and presentations to promote the property and services.

Group & Event Sales Oversight

  • Oversee group blocks and event bookings to ensure proper rate, space, and date management.
  • Work with the events team to ensure a seamless transition from sales to service.
  • Support sales activities for conferences, meetings, weddings, and other special events.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Hire, train, and lead a high-performing sales team.
  • Set clear goals, provide coaching and feedback, and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, motivation, and excellence in service and sales execution.

Marketing & Brand Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing teams on promotions, brand campaigns, digital strategies, and hotel positioning.
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and community functions to build visibility and business relationships.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3–5+ years of hotel sales experience with at least 1–2 years in a leadership role (full-service hotel experience required; full-service brand experience preferred).
  • Experience with CRM and hotel systems (e.g., Delphi.fdc, Opera, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of sales techniques, revenue optimization, and customer relationship management.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing revenue.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and hold a team accountable to high standards.
